About King William's College

Established in 1833, King William’s College is set in a stunning coastal location on the Isle of Man. This independent boarding and day school for girls and boys aged 11 to 18 was one of the first International Baccalaureate (IB) schools in the British Isles. Read more about the IB here. It is vibrant and friendly and whether they are from the Island or from far afield pupils are brought together in a nurturing international environment.

Academic excellence lies at the heart of King William’s College. A highly qualified and enthusiastic staff combined with small set sizes (average of 15 in senior school and 10 in Sixth Form) ensures that all pupils are inspired and given the individual support they need to achieve success.

Among the college’s distinguished alumni are the 1915 Nobel Laureate in Physics, Sir William Bragg; John Ellerton, the writer of the hymn “The day thou gavest, Lord, is ended,” the poet T.E. Brown, and three winners of the Victoria Cross, Britain’s highest military honour.

With 37.1 acres of inspiring space; 19th Century architecture, extensive sports fields and a sports hall, swimming pool, landscaped gardens, two boarding houses and a chapel large enough to accommodate the whole school, King William’s College is truly a special place.Read more about King William’s here.
