The students experienced a memorable series of lectures and presentations addressing the 'The Art of the Possible'. Sue Williams spoke about her exciting career, from being a detective for twenty-two years to becoming the world's leading hostage negotiator. Serena Kern-Libera spoke about her successful career from a corporate lawyer at Slaughter and May to her time at the Bank of England working in trade policy and strategy. Serena’s interview resonated well with students as she spoke about how she grew up in Nilgiris, a small, rural mountain village in India, and how she journeyed to the UK. Serena is also a pop singer and owns a record label. Tim Cullen lectured on the Fundamentals of Negotiation to an expanded audience of SVG and United Nations Association students and IOM business people. He touched on many topics including persuasion principles. Other lecturers included Professor Angela Little, Dr Michael Hoy, Sir John Lorimer, John Taylor, Juan Watterson, Jeroen Wats, Clare Broadbent, Neil Morris, Reverend Erica Scott, Sir Miles Walker, Mark Shimmin and Micky Swindale whose subjects included leadership, invention, education, critical thinking, faith, innovation, economics, history, the environment and sustainability.
