Peel is a small sea-side town on the west coast of the Isle of Man. Following the students' visit to Tynwald, they visited Peel Cathedral's Pilgrim Gardens -- an educational-historical, and religious experience at St. German’s Cathedral. The students enjoyed a pub lunch, followed by a fascinating, interactive tour through the House of Manannan Viking museum. The students had the honour to hear from Nigel Wood, who is also an I.S.E.P. Trustee, as he told his story of learning to sail the Odin’s Raven with his fellow crew members as they sailed from Trondheim, Norway to Peel in 1979 to commemorate the Manx Millennium. He told of the excitement, trials and tribulations they faced along the way which helped him discover “The Art of the Possible.” The day’s activities continued with a walk to Peel Castle, built by the Vikings, accompanied by Blue Badge Guide, and volunteer, Phil Craine, followed by tea at the house of Professor Angela Little, one of the world's leading academics in the field of education in developing countries, who taught a classroom session the next morning.
