The students were shown where the Battle of Ronaldsway took place in 1275 when the Manx, who were trying to re-establish Norse rule, were defeated by the Scottish Army.

Although the students were adjusting to the cold and wet climate, that did not stop Richard Watson from taking them all out on a 2-hour 4 kilometre walk along the Langness Peninsula where he covered the history and geography of the area. The students walked along the seashore, around a golf course where a few students were hunting for golf balls as well as having the opportunity to see some seals which was a new experience for them. The walked concluded with an interactive BBQ afternoon at Tim Cullen’s and Micheal Bridgens’ home in Derbyhaven which was also attended by ISEP Trustees, their family members, neighbours and friends. The students felt at home and welcomed.
